We’re glad to have you back for another year.
Your membership helps keep the ranges open, supports improvements, funds maintenance, and keeps this whole operation moving.
In other words:
You renewed. We appreciate you. You’re officially stuck with us for another year. 😄
Now for the annual reminder nobody puts on the membership brochure…
MRGC IS A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION
That means we do not have:
A cleaning crew.
A landscaping department.
A full-time maintenance staff.
A brass retrieval specialist.
A guy named Steve whose only job is to fix whatever you broke.
And, despite extensive research, we have confirmed there are no magical range elves.
The people cleaning, mowing, fixing, organizing, answering emails, running matches, handling membership, repairing targets, attending meetings, and generally keeping the place from descending into chaos are VOLUNTEERS.
Volunteers who also have jobs.
Families.
Things to do.
And probably their own brass to pick up.
So please help us out.
PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF
This is a gun range.
Not a restaurant.
Not a hotel.
And definitely not your teenager’s bedroom.
When you leave, please take your targets, trash, ammo boxes, water bottles, shotgun hulls, and anything else that arrived with you.
And then there’s the big one…
PICK UP YOUR BRASS.
Yes.
.22 LR COUNTS.
We know it’s tiny.
We know it rolls.
We know it finds cracks in the concrete that appear to lead directly to another dimension.
We know after 100 rounds your back suddenly starts negotiating with you.
Still brass.
Still yours.
Pick it up.
We love you.
We appreciate you.
But we do not want to identify exactly which member was shooting based on the archaeological layer of .22 LR they left behind. 😂
THE RANGE RULES STILL APPLY
Renewing your membership does not unlock MRGC Prestige Mode.
There is no:
“I’ve been a member for 20 years” exemption.
“I know what I’m doing” exemption.
“Nobody else is here” exemption.
Or the ever-popular:
“Well, we’ve always done it this way.”
All members are expected to follow the current range rules and safety procedures every time they use the facilities.
Please check the Montrose Rod & Gun Club website regularly for updated information, range closures, meetings, events, competitions, rule changes, and other announcements.
Because eventually…
“Nobody told me” becomes “It was on the website.”
ABOUT YOUR GUEST…
Your membership allows you to bring:
ONE GUEST.
Let’s practice together:
One.
Uno.
Single.
Not plural.
Not “just two buddies.”
Not “my brother-in-law doesn’t really count.”
Not “they’re all standing really close together.”
ONE. GUEST.
And because they came with you, they are your responsibility.
Their safety.
Their behavior.
Their rule-following.
And yes…
their damage.
If your guest shoots something they shouldn’t, backs into something they shouldn’t, runs over something they shouldn’t, or somehow turns perfectly functional club property into a future Board discussion…
Congratulations.
You now have a project.
Please report the damage and help make sure it gets repaired.
Do not quietly leave and think:
“Eh… somebody on the Board will deal with it.”
Remember the volunteer thing?
Board Member is not another term for unpaid handyman.
If you break it, own it.
If your guest breaks it, own that too.
If you see something that needs attention, say something.
And if you have the ability to help fix it…
Even better.
THIS CLUB BELONGS TO ALL OF US
A successful club doesn’t happen because ten volunteers repeatedly clean up after hundreds of adults.
It works because members take care of the place.
So thank you again for renewing your membership and continuing to support the Montrose Rod & Gun Club.
We really are happy to have you back.
Just remember the basics:
Follow the rules.
Check the website.
Bring ONE guest.
Don’t shoot the furniture.
If you break it, help fix it.
And for the love of all things rimfire… PICK UP YOUR DANG BRASS.
